Another day, another awesome report from Teri Sforza at the Register’s Watchdog Blog - Crusading for ‘Judeo-Christian values’ doesn’t come cheap:
California Family Council Foundation, a non-profit based in Riverside and led by Yorba Linda’s Ron Prentice (who was recently vice president for public affairs at socially conservative Focus on the Family), exists ”to protect and foster Judeo-Christian principles in California’s laws, for the benefit of its families,” says its web site.
The Council is against gay marriage. Prentice, its CEO, is also chairman of ProtectMarriage.com - YES on 8, the stop-gays-from-marrying initiative on November’s ballot.
Yet the Council spent just one-quarter of its money on programs fostering said mission - and spent most of the money on itself.
There are two issues here -
First, groups like this are spreading the Christian hate and using religion as a reason to take civil rights away from people. This doesn’t really seem like Christ’s message. But I’m the wrong person to ask on that.
Second, a charity should never be spending 75% of its money on salaries and operating costs - typically, no more than 35% should be spent on such things, and good charities spend fewer than 10% on those basics.
Someone’s benefiting here, and it’s not the causes. Maybe for those of us who aren’t bigots, though, it’s good that the California Family Council Foundation is lining pockets instead of working to end a hard-fought and much needed civil right.

If your numbers are correct, it looks like another prime example of people milking “Christians” for all they’re worth. If you want to see some really good excuses for this kind scam, check out larknews.com
Very funny stuff.
Maybe we need a Judeo-Christian-Islamic values charity to support ALL who believe in the God of Abraham. We can celebrate the value of stoning a man to death for gathering wood on the Sabbath ( as the this God commanded). We can celebrate the stoning by the entire assembly of a man who blasphemed the name of God. We can value the putting to death of a Muslim who gives up Islam and converts to another of God’s holy religions. Thank God for God, otherwise how would we hold on to such values as stoning to death those who do not value the things that God told us to value. Thank God!
