Write for Justice Saturday

April 3rd, 2008, 11:26 am · Post a Comment · posted by Michael Doss

Even in this email age, elected officials (and businesses) say that hand written letters still get read and responded to more often than anything sent electronically. If you’re looking to get your voice heard, Women For: Orange County has an event right up your alley on Saturday:

The GREAT AMERICAN WRITE-IN is an Orange County tradition. Held in early spring on a Saturday, this letter-writing jamboree motivates hundreds of citizens to take action on vital issues by writing their legislators and other leaders. Be a part of the action - select your most important issues after speaking with representatives from a large variety of advocacy groups, and raise your voice by writing! Returning each year to the Write-In, loyal letter-writers have fondly dubbed it “The Conscience of Orange County”.

This year’s event is happening this Saturday from 9:30am - 1pm at Lakeview Senior Center at Woodbridge Community Park in Irvine. Over forty local environmental, human and civil rights, peace and education groups will be tabling the event, and postage, supplies and refreshments are provided by Women For: Orange County.
