OC Pastor Calls for Imprecatory Prayer

I need to learn to read more carefully.

Yesterday, a friend sent me a link with the title “Stay Classy, Christians”, and a link to a press release at ChristianNewsWire. It’s about a pastor who called for an “Imprecatory Prayer” against two members of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. For those of you unfamiliar with your biblical terminology, “Imprecatory” basically means “invoking evil” - it’s a prayer to curse someone, or call for their death.

Why do I need to read more carefully? Wiley Drake, the pastor in question, is from Orange County.

I didn’t realize it until I saw the story at the OC Register - Drake called for the imprecatory prayer after two members of AU asked for the IRS to investigate Drake’s church for illegal electioneering by a non-profit group. You can read AU’s press release on the issue here.
